Training to Fix Dog Behavior Problems
When you get a new puppy, training issues need to be addressed from the beginning. You should enjoy your new
puppy, and have a good time playing and cuddling the new bundle of joy. A puppy is
definitely cute, but if you do not address specific dog behavior problems from the outset, and if your do not
establish your dominance as pack-leader, the puppy will grow up and form destructive behaviors which will be
very hard to break as a fully grown dog. This article highlights some to the problem behaviors. If training is

There are many different types of dog behavior problems that individuals will go to a trainer to
help them address with their dogs. Here are some dog behavior problems to watch out for.
Excessive barking
Some dogs just seem to want to bark at everything. This could be another dog or animal, a person, noise, or just
for fun. This barking will become annoying to you, your family and especially to your neighbors. This is more so if
you live in an apartment or condominium.
Digging
This is another dog behavior problem. Digging can be a difficult to stop once it has started. It can cause lots
of damage and even create safety problem, and should be corrected immediately. Digging not only creates holes in
the yard, but it destroys gardens, lawns and flower beds. Furthermore, dogs often dig near the edge of a yard and
consequently the holes go beneath the fence. This allows the dog to escape out of your property, getting exposed to
possible harm or being caught by the dog-catcher.
Food aggression
If you have more than one pet at home, this is another dog behavior problem that can occur. All animals can get
aggressive around food. Some dogs that start to protect their food from the other pets, may snap at them or chase
them away from their food dish. This is potentially dangerous. Snapping could lead to biting, and if there are any
small children around, this behavior can also be shown towards them. Dog to dog aggression that can develop between
certain dogs, especially two male dogs that are not neutered.
Other dog behavior problems
In addition to these aggression problems, a variety of other problems could arise, such as separation anxiety,
chewing problems, thieving issues, running away, jumping on guests, and whining.
