Sometimes you simply want to yell "stop dog barking!".

You do not want your animal to be barking when they should not be. If it is late at night and they hear a noise by the house, or when they are upset, that is okay, but you don’t want your dog howling constantly because it is going to annoy you very much. You need to make certain, if you are going to get a new dog, that you train them that you are in command and that they must listen.

1 - Practice Leaving Home

One of the main reasons that you or your neighbors will shout "stop dog barking" is because a dog will bark continuously whenever their people leave home. If this is the case, then you should practice leaving the home. Say goodbye to your family member but ensure that you do not make it a huge exciting event. If you do, you are merely going to be giving them a reason to start barking once more, so you only want to give them a swift kiss or wave goodbye when you leave. Now if you want to stop a dog from barking, once you pretend to leave and are standing outside the front door, if you hear the dog barking wait a moment and then open the door and reprimand them firmly.

2 - Give Them Something to Play With

If you want to stop a dog from barking (shouting "stop dog barking" generally does not help), ensure that you give them something while you are gone. Something appropriate such as a bone or toy, as long as your dog has something that can keep them occupied while you are gone, they are much less prone to get anxious and to bark.

These are both great techniques if you want to scream "stop dog barking". There are lots of other things that you can do to stop a dog from barking. Some pets will catch on immediately and will stop barking as soon as you start educating them but others are going to take additional time. Just make sure that you are patient and that you are very stern with your pet so that they know you mean business here.  They need to know without any doubt that you are in charge.
